Laser cut plywood kit, Steel, plastic and white metal detail, sprung brass axleboxes, wheels and sprung, turned buffers. Requires Transfers to complete that come with a choice of locations. The kit is based on the design by Surrey Warner of the LSWR in 1906. They were common on early main line work and adopted in to SR with diagram 1545 allocated. During World War 1 the design was also adopted by the War Department, with many being built by contractors, with minor changes (such as safety chains) to make them suitable for overseas use. Post war, at least 250 of these vans were returned to Britain and sold to many railway companies including CR, GCR, GER, GNSR, LNWR, LSWR, Met, NER & NBR. Twenty remained unallocated at the time of grouping and were purchased by the SR.
